Certificate in Individually Selected University Studies
Some students like to create a short, customized pathway to explore their own personal interests and curiosities. A Certificate in Individually Selected University Studies is a tangible goal to recognize this accomplishment.
A Certificate in Individually Selected University Studies requires 12-59 semester credits in any University courses numbered 100-499, selected in consultation with a VIU Advisor or department chair. Please note that courses with a "T" suffix are eligible for this certificate. In any cases where the learning plan developed requires more than 30 credits, at least 3 of the credits must be chosen from those courses which can be applied towards the VIU Degree English Requirement.
Students interested in Individually Selected Studies are strongly encouraged to discuss their educational goals with an Advisor.
