Undergraduate students at VIU get more
As an undergrad student at VIU you get more from your education. Small class sizes mean you get more connection with your professors and your peers. You get more in-depth exploration of the topics that inspire you. You get more hands-on experience and more opportunity to take your learning into the community. And you get more support when you need it.
Explore undergraduate programs
When it comes to choosing an academic program, finding the right fit is all about balance. You want to find a subject that interest you, and you want an option that will lead to a career that will make you happy. Our program pages include career details to help you find that balance.
Program selection tip
We offer a mix of open admission and limited entry programs. With open admission programs, we will offer you admission if you meet the minimum admission requirements. Limited entry programs have a limited number of seats, so admission is competitive. If the program you want is limited entry, we recommend you also apply for an open admission program. You can also meet with an Advisor for advice on how to make your limited entry program application more competitive.

Deepen your knowledge through research
Research lets you dive deep into a topic that interests you. You develop critical thinking skills – something most employers look for. Applied research is an element of every undergrad program. And VIU undergrads take part in research that other schools often reserve for graduate students. You can do independent funded research, and you can get involved in one of the many research initiatives happening at VIU.
