Are you wondering if a career in trades or applied technology is right for you? Careers in these fields can pay off in a big way – with as little as nine months of education. The labour outlook for these jobs remains strong, with more than 106,000 jobs expected to open up in just the trades, transport and equipment operators sector alone.
Honouring Asian Heritage Month
May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada. This year’s theme is recognition, resilience and resolve and “honours the contributions and the diverse stories of peoples of Asian descent in Canada, which are rooted in resilience and perseverance.

What types of educational delivery modes are available at VIU this fall?
With the direction and support of BC’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, VIU is now planning for a safe return to on-campus instruction for Fall 2021, taking into account the health and safety Dr. Henry mentioned in her letter to post-secondary presidents. Information about how most courses and programs will be delivered will be available through the timetable system on April 26, 2021.
Getting out of the Fog
It is that time of year again when reading break is a distant memory and sh*t just got real. Completing end-of-term projects and studying for tests, as well as ensuring you are still sleeping and getting a breath of fresh air now and then is getting extremely challenging. “And my brain – oh my foggy brain. It is getting so difficult to think clearly.”
